GUIDANCE FOR COLLECTORS EXPLORING MY ART
I AM INTERESTED IN A PAINTING, HOW DO I FIND OUT THE PRICE OR AVAILABILITY?
Simply use the “inquire” button that you will find with each painting in my portfolio overview. I usually get back to you promptly with information about the price and the shipping options to different countries. You'll see that some works are reserved, this means they're exclusive for galleries or on hold for collectors/interior projects, but feel free to contact me regarding their availability and maybe make a reservation.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IF I WOULD LIKE TO BUY A PAINTING?
If you decide on an original work by me, you will receive the corresponding invoice as the next step. Depending on delivery address, price, size, and medium of the work, I begin processing - for example packaging, requesting the export declaration from German customs, etc. This can take up to 6 working days. As soon as the painting is ready for dispatch and the shipping has been booked, you will receive information from me about which carrier is used and the tracking ID, so you can follow its journey.
TO WHICH COUNTRIES CAN PAINTINGS BE SHIPPED?
My paintings can be shipped to most countries worldwide. I collaborate with experienced service providers such as DHL Express, FedEx and others, who deliver to most countries and also handle customs clearance in the destination country (additional fees may apply).
WILL I RECEIVE THE WORK “READY TO HANG”?
Depending on size, my original paintings are shipped either stretched “ready to hang” (small and medium sizes) or rolled (large or extra large sizes).
Rolled paintings need to be re-stretched after unpacking. This can be done by a professional framing studio that also provides the appropriate stretcher bars. In most cases, re-stretching on site is significantly more affordable than shipping stretched works.
Works on paper are shipped either rolled or in a cardboard box, depending on size and weight. They can then be individually framed.
If you are unsure what applies to the work you are interested in, simply contact me.
ARE WORKS ON PAPER FRAMED?
With rare exceptions, my works on paper are not framed. If you have any doubts or questions, please contact me!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR A PAINTING TO BE SHIPPED AND DELIVERED?
This depends on the size of the painting (the larger, the longer the packaging takes) and on the price. From a certain value, the painting must be accompanied by appropriate customs documents, which I have to request from German customs. As a rule, a large painting is ready for dispatch after 4–6 days. The transport itself usually takes another 2 to 3 days, but can take longer if customs clearance in the importing country is required, or during certain times of the year when parcel volumes are particularly high.
Smaller works that do not require customs documents or customized packaging can usually be shipped about 2–3 working days after your order.
ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS WHEN IMPORTING PAINTINGS INTO OTHER COUNTRIES?
Depending on the destination country, additional costs may apply. There are countries where artworks can be imported entirely free of duties, or up to a certain value without taxes. In others, import taxes are due. Please check with your local customs authority.
If import taxes need to be paid, the service provider responsible for transport organizes customs clearance upon import into the destination country (additional fees may apply), so that you can make the payment quickly and easily and delivery then takes place.
WITH WHICH COMPANY WILL THE PAINTING BE SHIPPED?
This depends on the individual offers of the carriers when booking and usually on size and destination. In every case, shipping is handled by a reliable, well-known company such as DHL Express, FedEx or UPS. They also take care of import formalities in the destination country (additional fees may apply).
